Polkadot Ecosystem Weekly Digest
January 25th — January 31st
A proposal for a runtime upgrade is now up for vote on Polkadot and if passed it will be executed in block number #3,613,564 as runtime version 27. Join the Polkadot Direction channel to follow the discussion.
Sub-Bounties Extension Implementation was proposed on https://kusama.polkassembly.io/post/463 Sub-bounties extension aims to give more flexibility in the use of the pallet for curators to reward completed tasks without closing the parent bounty. Proposal description.
Bifrost has reached a new round of angel financing of 1.55 million USD, which is the second round of financing after the seed round with 600,000 USD in September, 2020. This round of investment institutions include: CMS Holding, Altonomy, Sevenx, Zonff Partners, PAKA, Timestop Capital, InCuba Alpha, Oasis Capital, Kernel Capital and Loopring co-founders Jay Zhou and Steve Guo and other individual investors.
Darwinia Network has launched a two-way “Golden Gate Bridge” allowing freely transfer RING and KTON between Darwinia and Ethereum in a decentralized manner.
Plasm Network will launch a canary network — Shiden in the mid Feb. as a parachain for Kusama. PLM holders can claim SDN token at a 1:1 ratio. 32.5% of SDN tokens to KSM PLO participants with a vesting period.
Plasm Network will launch Plasm Network Portal by the end of February. This portal is a tool for dApps developers and $PLM token holders to stake PLM, earn PLM, and deploy applications. Solidity and ink! contracts can be deployed on Shiden Network through this portal to earn SDN tokens.
ZK Rollups integration test has been successfully completed. See the progress.
Sora starts a SORAmbassador Programme. The SORA Ambassador Programme is aimed at building a larger SORA community: participating in the SORA communication channels, or helping write or translate articles about SORA.
Phala Network has completed the technology of running on Kusama and Polkadot, and that becomes one of the first technology-ready candidates to slot auctions. Source.
KILT Protocol has deployed one of the first parachains on Rococo V1 as part of the Polkadot ecosystem. KILT’s parachain will use XCMP to enable smart contracts from other chains to verify attestations on the KILT chain.
In the months to come, Kilt is planning to implement KILT’s mainnet launch, PoS migration and governance, with other functionalities to follow.
Litentry has been successfully audited by SlowMist. In the test report, SlowMist found 0 high-risk vulnerability, 1 medium-risk vulnerability and 2 enhancement suggestions in Litentry. After correction, all problems found have been fixed.
StaFi Protocol invites validators to join the StaFi rETH OV (Original validators) program. In rETH, OV specifically refer to the Ethereum 2.0 validators who have joined the StaFi rETH OV program and run nodes for the funds in rETH Staking Pool.
Moonbeam Network has completed a TestNet integration of ChainBridge, a modular multi-directional bridge by ChainSafe Systems. The bridge between Ethereum and the Moonbeam parachain on Polkadot will allow asset transfers between the two independent chains.
Apron has started the Ambassador Program: Community Contributors, Social media Influencers, Content Creator and other enthusiastic community members are welcome to join.
Several new members joined to the Polkadot Defi Alliance: Fearless Wallet, Subsocial, Phala Network, Konomi, Rai Finance, Deeper Network and Parastate.
“What is Equilibrium?” — review by Ryabina Validator.
Darwinia and Bifrost will jointly explore the application Defi+NFT with cross-chain game scenes in the #Polkadot ecosystem.
Fractal, Kilt and Polkadex have partnered to create a KYC system for exchange customers. Polkadex and Fractal will use the KILT as the underlying infrastructure for managing the KYC credentials required by Polkadex. KILT Protocol will integrate Fractal’s user-centric KYC/AML platform. BOTLabs GmbHwill provide a wallet as a browser extension for customers to hold their credentials, and make the wallet available to Polkadex for verification.
The partnerships is aimed at several opportunities:
- Plasm will integrate API3’s decentralized API’s (dAPI) and Airnode-enabled API’s into its platform. This will give developers building on the Plasm network access to all of the data that API3 provides through these solutions. A dAPI is a secure and cost-efficient solution to provide a traditional API service to smart contracts in a decentralized way.
- API3 and Plasm will organize a hackathon designed to test the Airnode’s functionality on Plasm, more information will be provided in the future.
- Plasm will add API3 on dApps Staking platform so that API3 can earn PLM tokens by building oracles on Plasm Network.
The strategic partnership will open a path for Kylin Network to deploy its oracle and decentralized data marketplace and analytics to Ethereum-based Dapps as well as provide a native oracle integration to anyone building through Edgeware’s development toolkit comprising: Full EVM + Tooling Support, WASM Contract Runtime, Zero-knowledge Primitives, and an EVM Bridge.
Acala Network and Injective will work together to integrate the Acala Dollar (aUSD) into Injective’s derivative trading ecosystem. The integration of aUSD will provide a stable asset that can be used to collateralize Polkadot-based derivative products on Injective.
Paralink announced its collaboration with Plasm Network. Paralink picked Plasm as a primary smart contracts platform for development of wasm based oracle solution.
BoringDAO will boost the efficient circulation of dApp assets on the Clover platform across multiple chains and Clover will assist BoringDAO to integrate into the Polkadot ecosystem.
“Reef Finance is joining forces with Manta Network to provide Reef users seamless access to liquidity from Manta DEX.”
Marlin x StaFi=Layer-0 Solution x Liquid Staking Solution. Marlin partners with StaFi to enable POND staking derivatives.
Crust has partnered with Moonbeam Network to enable the decentralized storage of Solidity smart contracts and DApp data.
Moonbeam Network and Ocean Protocol teams have completed the first part of an initial integration: a successful deployment of Ocean’s contracts to Moonbeam.
Tidal Finance has joined forces with Cere to provide decentralized insurance service to Cere’s pledge fund pool and liquidity mining, offering Cere users to get covered in case of smart contract exploit.
